Privacy Policy

Overview

top7tech.uk ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. This policy explains how we handle personal data when you visit this website. The short version: this is a static site, we do not ask you to create an account, and we set no cookies of our own.

Information We Collect

top7tech.uk is a static content website. We do not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use our site. This is everything that is collected:

• Newsletter sign-ups (closed 15 October 2026): The newsletter was discontinued and its sign-up form removed, so no new addresses are collected. An address entered before then is stored with the date it was entered and nothing else, held in Cloudflare's storage, not used for anything, and never sold or shared. Email support@top7tech.uk and it is deleted.
• Outbound click counts: When you follow a link to Amazon we record which product was clicked, which page and button it was clicked from, and the country Cloudflare reports for the request. No IP address, cookie or identifier is stored with it, so a click cannot be tied to a person.
• Hosting and analytics: The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and browser details in order to deliver pages and to protect the site. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not fingerprint visitors.
• Amazon: Amazon may place cookies on your device after you click through to amazon.co.uk. Those cookies are set by Amazon on its own site, are how Amazon attributes a purchase to us, and are governed by Amazon's privacy policy.
• Web fonts: Fonts are served from this site. No request is made to Google or any other font provider when you load a page.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own, which is why there is no cookie banner.

• Your browser's local storage: The "Jump back in" links on the homepage remember which categories you last read. That list is kept in your own browser, is never sent to us, and disappears if you clear your site data.
• Amazon affiliate cookies: When you click a product link and arrive at Amazon, Amazon may place cookies to track the referral. These are set by Amazon on amazon.co.uk, not by this site, and are governed by Amazon's privacy policy.

How We Use Information

A newsletter email address collected before 15 October 2026 is not used for anything. Click counts are used to see which pages and picks readers find useful. We do not build profiles, we do not sell or share data, and we do not advertise to you anywhere else. Data processed by Amazon and Cloudflare in the course of providing their services is governed by their respective privacy policies.

Third-Party Services

• Amazon Associates: amazon.co.uk (Amazon Privacy Policy)
• Cloudflare: cloudflare.com (Cloudflare Privacy Policy). This site is served by Cloudflare and uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not fingerprint visitors.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to:

• Be informed about how your personal data is used
• Access any personal data held about you
• Have inaccurate personal data corrected
• Have your personal data erased in certain circumstances
• Restrict or object to how your personal data is processed
• Data portability, where processing is automated and based on consent or a contract

The only personal data this site holds is a newsletter email address, if you gave us one. To see it, correct it or have it deleted, email support@top7tech.uk. For data held by Amazon or Cloudflare, those rights are exercised with them. If you believe your data has been handled improperly you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
